Blue Tansy Essential Oil
Derived from the yellow-flowered Mediterranean plant that grows in northern Morocco, Blue Tansy Essential Oil, also known as Moroccan Chamomile Essential Oil, is deep blue in colour and is steam distilled from the fresh flowering tops of the Tanacetum annuum plant. This highly valued essential oil is said to carry an intensely refreshing, sweet-herbaceous aroma with a subtle camphoraceous top note.
Despite coming from a yellow-flowered plant, Blue Tansy gets its deep indigo colour (and name) from a chemical compound called chamazulene. This compound is a result of the steam distillation process; when the tansy plant reacts to hot water vapor the oil changes colour. Whilst chamazulene is not found in the Blue Tansy flower, the naturally occurring constituent contributes to the many benefits that Blue Tansy Essential Oil has to offer.

Diffusing:

Topical Application:
• You can add a few drops of Blue Tansy Essential Oil to a carrier oil to create a soothing and relaxing massage oil or skin serum.
• We always recommend a 2-4% dilution for skin application and a 1-2% dilution for facial application.
Please note: due to the bright indigo colour of this essential oil, it can stain fabrics when used topically.
